Warm the space with colorful cushions (which can be easily changed with the seasons, if you like), a vibrant, carefully folded throw which is really the blanket you cuddle under when you watch tally, and a special rug on the floor to co-ordinate and pull the lot together. You don’t have to spend a fortune. Check out sale catalogues from department stores and furniture chains and the ever-handy Ikea and Freedom.
