Childhood is an important stage in our lives, one that is identified with cheerfulness, playfulness, and other happy feelings. When it comes to decorating, we would do well to choose bright colors and funny graphics in order to make our children remain happy and cheerful. While most people focus on decorating a child’s bedroom, it is a no surprise to know that children’s bathrooms receive far less attention and are left bland whereas in fact we can also remodel a bathroom to be a comfortable and enjoyable place for children.
While redecorating your child’s bathroom, you must keep in mind that safety is the number one requirement. Marble or ceramic tiles might look clean; however, they are accident-prone as they tend to be slippery when wet. It may be better to switch to less-slippery materials such as wooden tiles or textured no-slip ceramic tiles. If you have already installed slippery flooring and don’t have the budget or time to remodel it, placement of a slip-proof rug on the tiles is recommended. While it is fine to install a tub for teenage bathroom, it can be dangerous for underage children. Make sure to always monitor your child while bathing to prevent a bathroom mishap.
A mini vanity unit might be suitable for smaller children, but you will need to replace it as your child grows taller. As an alternative, you can install a regular vanity unit and provide a wooden step or tip-resistant stool so that your kid can reach the mirror. You can also add a colorful toothbrush holder and bottles of shampoo and soap to brighten the room.
